Colour light carmine red, violet highlights. Aroma fresh, fine, red fruits, intense, notes of cocoa bean, blond tobacco. Taste ample, rich, notes of fruit stones, a complex wine, good lasting after-taste. The colour is a particularly glowing carmine red.

The aromas of red and black fruits are dominated by very expressive black cherry, evidence of perfectly ripe grapes. The fruit flavours are enveloped in a fresh smoothness to give an extreme silkiness and a lasting after-taste. This full-bodied wine, well structured and elegant, is perfectly balanced and evidence of a promising vintage
Château Fonrazade is found next to the famous Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Angelus, on the southern slopes of the Saint-Emilion hills, less than 1 kilometer from the medieval village.
The vineyard stretches over 13 hectares (about 32 acres) of sandy brown soils, down the south-western slope of the Coteau de Mazerat.
The vines, with a density of about 5500 vines per hectare, consist of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. They are on the average 40 years old, which is an index of the quality of the wines.
