In fact this 2005 is a charming wine. The colour is a shimmering crimson, the aroma reveals fine fragrances of dark berries and mild spices, delicately woody. The full-bodied taste with enveloped tannins promises great harmony.
Vintage 2011 : The colour is deep brick red with carmin highlights. The aroma of ripe fruits is enhanced by a nascent bouquet with notes of truffles and autumnal forest fragrances. The taste is ample and generous with the strength and the freshness of tannins rich and still young. A wine with future and character.

Vintage 2012 : The colour is a brilliant glowing red with ruby highlights. The aromas of fresh fruits are enhanced by an agreeable note of clove. The taste is elegant with silky tannins which give it an aspect gourmand and of great class. A wine that can be enjoyed already for its fruit. A modern wine.
Château Fonrazade is found next to the famous Premier Grand Cru Classé Château Angelus, on the southern slopes of the Saint-Emilion hills, less than 1 kilometer from the medieval village. The vineyard stretches over 13 hectares (about 32 acres) of sandy brown soils, down the south-western slope of the Coteau de Mazerat.
The vines, with a density of about 5500 vines per hectare, consist of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. They are on the average 40 years old, which is an index of the quality of the wines.
